In academic writing task 1, you have to write at least 150 words in response to a graph, table, chart, or process. It is recommended that you should not spend more than 20 minutes on Task 1 because writing task 2 carries more band score and requires writing at least 250 words. Here you can check Task 1 and Task 2, how writing exam question test would like.

Read the passage carefully

Reading the passage carefully is very important because if you do not do that, you cannot get a good score in your writing task 1. So the first rule is to read each word carefully to grab the whole meaning of the task, what the task statement wants to say, what its requirements are, etc.

Understanding is quite essential. You are more likely to make a mistake if you don’t grasp the passage or topic. The easier it will be to understand the passage if you read it carefully. Understanding a text’s point of view, tone, and bias, if any, is essential because this is what you’ll be focusing on in writing task 1/2.

Use a good range of linking words

The simplest and most linguistically stylistic way to connect ideas, sentences, or phrases in writing is to link words. You must show the examiner a variety of linking words that are contextually suitable.

Proofreading

Proofread is a crucial element in writing. After finishing task 1/2, you should proofread the passage to remove any silly mistakes like punctuation error spelling mistakes. Proofread add up the quality of your writing. It will reduce the chance of deduction marks from errors.

Time Matters

If you’re studying for the exam, you should be aware of the necessity of time management. You need to spend your time wisely in all the portions of the test. This section will take you 60 minutes to complete.

You should be aware that writing task 2 provides you with more score opportunities, so devote more effort to it. Make it a habit to finish this section of the practice tests before the time limit of 60 minutes. Include the time spent thinking and planning as well.

Writing an essay is not a profession. It’s a skill that must be perfected. It will not help you cut if you keep writing, no matter your level. To earn a high score, you must devote more effort to evaluating and correcting your errors.

Unnecessary idioms

Use potential and meaningful words, phrases, and idioms, among other things, to support your sentence rather than demonstrating your mastery of the English language. Using expressions throughout your essay will make it culturally ineffective. Keep in mind that your essay should reflect your ideas, opinions, and culture.

Only use the passive voice when writing.

The passive voice offers the audience an urgent and direct tone. You are confounding the examiner or giving them the wrong impression about various areas of your paper if you use an active voice.

Keep in mind that the passive voice emphasizes the action, whereas the active voice emphasizes the person acting. You must choose one based on your needs. So it would be best if you used this.
